F*CK CRISTAL!!!
I know that this is "old news" by now, but I had to speak upon it real quick.
F*CK CRISTAL!!
It seems that with all of the rappers promoting Cristal (for free, no less) that the company is trying to distance itsdelf from Hip-Hop artists (i.e. Black folks).
Some people, notably Jay-Z are starting to boycott the over-priced and over-hyped grape juice.
Some think that a boycott is too little, too late.
Many agree whole-heartedly with a boycott of Cristal.
Here are the quotes made by Frédéric Rouzaud, the managing director of Cristal, about high profile that rappers are giving the drink:
"Despite importing over 50,000 cases of the champagne per year, Rouzaud was less than thrilled at rappers’ fondness for the posh drink.
"What can we do?" Rouzaud told The Economist. "We can’t forbid people from buying it. I’m sure Dom Perignon or Krug would be delighted to have their business."
The article further labeled the constant Cristal patronage by rappers as "unwelcome attention."
Here's the actual article in The Economist Magazine.
First Timberland shoes, then Tommy Hilfiger's clothing line, and now this.
To the rappers:
STOP RAPPIN' ABOUT PRODUCTS YOU'RE NOT GETTIN' PAID FOR AND THAT DON'T RESPECT YOU AS A CONSUMER!!
I wonder where Ice Cube and 50 Cent are on this issue?
Or are they still bitchin' at Oprah for not having them on her show?
